Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with King Abdul Aziz University (KAU).

The MoU aims to advance the study of science and technology by supporting the dissemination of knowledge and providing practical and hands-on training for students.

This is meant to enable the students to hone their skills required for increasing their job prospects on completing education. The MoU was signed by Mobily CEO Ahmed Farrukh and KAU’s Acting GM Abdul Rahman bin Obeid Al-Youbi.

Based on the terms of the MoU, the students will have a unique opportunity to improve their skill-based trainings that focusing on practical areas within technology, such as mobile apps, communications technology, apps development and computer software.

These practical skills will go a long way toward helping students acquire relevant job-related knowledge and expertise, that would enable them to get jobs and contribute more positively in their careers beyond completion their studies.

The agreement encompasses other aspects of mutual cooperation, such as participation of one of the university branches in the application development contest, being carried out by Mobily.

With Mobily’s text messaging service provision, the KAU staff, will be able to update themselves with the university community news.

In addition, special data packages are being offered to the administration and teachers of the university enabling stronger internal communications between the university, its employees, departments, faculty and students.

Mobily has undertaken this initiative in continuation of free training courses for application developers carried out in coordination with the university.

This falls under the broader umbrella of Mobily Community for Application Developers, which has been active in providing free trainings and learning materials to students across the Kingdom.
