The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has extended its annual research grant of nearly SR 3 million to the King Abdulaziz University (KAU) to enable it to drive ingenuity and innovation.

The university’s SABIC-funded research also centers on developing specific needs for the company that will enable it to work closely with customers and deliver products, applications and solutions that respond to their sustainability needs.

With the latest grant of SR 2.95 million, SABIC’s total support to KAU since it began the program in 1996 has now reached SR 22.45 million.

KAU officials thanked SABIC for the grants and praised the company’s support to Saudi Arabia’s efforts to harness technology and innovation.

They appreciated the company’s strong encouragement for their research programs, which will eventually bring benefits for humanity.

SABIC has significant global research resources through which it continues to focus on solutions to responsibly manufacture products, challenging the status quo, which will make a difference to its wide-reaching sustainability efforts.
