United Motors Company (UMC), the sole distributor for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles in Saudi Arabia, consolidated and further strengthened its market position in 2014, achieving a volume increase of more than 16 percent over 2013.
“This sales performance confirmed UMC’s ranking as the number one authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram distributor in the Middle East, and on a global basis the third largest distributor for the brands. It also reinforced UMC’s position as one of the Kingdom’s largest automotive distributors,” the company stated.
The best selling vehicles were the Dodge Charger (34 percent of total sales in 2014), followed by the Chrysler 300 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The success of the Charger, one of the most popular vehicles in the Middle East, is set to grow in 2015, as the Dodge brand, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014, moves into the next century of its history by giving the Charger four-door sedan a full-body makeover and offering an impressive lineup of expanded powertrains for 2015.
The 2015 Dodge Charger is totally updated and features a new state-of-the-art eight-speed automatic transmission that is standard across the expanded lineup.
New for 2015, the Chrysler Group’s TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission is standard on every Dodge Charger model, and the 2015 Charger also offers a full range of powerful yet fuel-efficient engine options.
The 2015 Chrysler 300, with roots that include the breakthrough 1955 and 2005 models, takes the nameplate’s style and sophistication to new levels and highlights six decades of ambitious American ingenuity through iconic design proportions and inspired materials, world-class quality and craftsmanship, best-in-class 31 mpg (7.59 L/100km) highway fuel economy, plus class-exclusive innovations.
Meanwhile, Jeep Grand Cherokee — the most awarded SUV ever and the vehicle that has long defined what a premium SUV should be — “remains the premium SUV.”
