An administrative court in Jeddah will hear in two weeks corruption cases related to the floods that hit the city in 2009.
The sessions are being held after the court referred back defendants to the control and investigative board last week. The court asked the board to list more parties involved in bribery allegations.
Defendants are accused of bribery, money laundering, abuse of authority and other cases of corruption involving sums up to SR 500 million.
The court had already sentenced a former mayor of Jeddah to seven years in prison and pay a fine of SR 1 million for accepting bribes.
The court also sentenced in absentia an Arab expatriate to a seven-year prison term and a fine of SR 600,000.
