I read with interest the article “Jewish money in US elections” (May 9) by Aijaz Zaka Syed. I fully agree with the writer that we Muslims should not whine about the strong influence of the Jewish lobby in the US media. Instead of complaining, we should try to make efforts against the Jewish lobby in the same manner. There is a great need for making investments in the field of media in the Muslim world.
We don’t have a strong media to counter the western propaganda. The western media is working overtime to portray Muslims as a barbaric people. We still are not aware of the truth behind the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS), Boko Haram and their likes. Hundreds of reports are available on the Internet suggesting a sinister plan to divide the Middle East using IS and its ilk as tools. Ironically, most of those reports are originating from the West. We are yet to come across one single investigative report with strong arguments exposing these terrorist elements.
