JEDDAH: The Arabian Gulf Center for Iranian Studies (AGCIS) has released its first biannual report on Iranian affairs.

Covering the last six months of 2016, it is divided into three parts: Iranian internal affairs, Iranian-Arab affairs and Iranian-international affairs.

On the internal level, the report focuses on five points: Tension between the presidency and the supreme leader; confrontations between the presidency and judicial authority; the presidency’s intervention in disputes between the judicial and legislative authorities; the military, its role in domestic affairs, and its budgets; and military affairs in light of signs of conflict between Iran and US President Donald Trump.

On Arab-Iranian relations, the report focuses on three aspects: Gulf-Iranian relations; Iranian intervention in neighboring Gulf countries; and Iran’s role in Syria.
