Embassy repatriates 130 Filipinos

Philippine Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago announced that 130 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) left for the Philippines on Thursday, bringing the total number of Filipinos repatriated from Riyadh and the Eastern Province to 1,351.
He said that the Jawazat Wafideen (the General Directorate for Passports for Expatriate Affairs) in the Shumeisy District last week resumed the processing of exit visas for those with iqamas or passports or who have their fingerprints registered on the database.
Details for women are processed on Tuesdays and Wednesday starting at 5 p.m. and those of men are processed on Thursdays starting at 5 p.m.
There has notably been a much lower turnout to the Passport Department in the past two weeks and the embassy has urged all those qualified under the guidelines to proceed to the Passport Department on the days specified and not wait until the last few days before the Nov. 3 deadline.
The embassy announced that processing through the Social Welfare Administration (SWA) has resumed. Women who prefer processing through the SWA are advised to coordinate with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Riyadh (POLO-Riyadh).
