What your employer says is not correct. The same standards apply. Only those with certain job categories, who have college diplomas and who earn at least SR3,000 per month are qualified to bring family. Your employer should help you make this change on your iqama. He is not bound to do so, but you both are violating the law — him by employing you to work as something other than what’s stated on your iqama and you by working in a job category not stated on your iqama. You both have a shared interest in correcting this matter.

I understand, you have left legally, according to your contract and the law, and with no conflict with your employer. Then you have no problem in returning with a new visa for a new employer. Your new employer can get you a visa according to regulation, but there is no connection between an Umrah visa and work visa. An Umrah visa cannot be changed to a work visa.
