The true ‘Queen of hearts’ in B-town is on a high these days. We are talking about Kangana Ranaut.
It was in 2014, that Kangana was crowned ‘Queen’ of the year. But she worked hard to reach the top of the success ladder. She struggled through a decade-long Bollywood career, two national awards and several films — hits and misses — before she could prove to the world what she was capable of. Now, her position is clear after the round accolades that is coming her way with the release of ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns.’
Considered to be an honest celeb, the curly haired actress has been living life on her own terms. She doesn’t hesitate to mince her words ever. Her stand on not receiving the commercial awards was much criticized but she stood her ground.
Now, buzz is that she recently rejected a fairness cream endorsement deal worth a whooping Rs 2 crore, just because she did not believe in ‘fairness’. That too, at a time when Bollywood superstars are jumping onto the brand bandwagon, at the drop of a hat! Kangana has for sure, taken the route less traveled. Much like her moves in the filmy business.
Being a public figure, Kangana is quite aware of her responsibilities and wants to stick to them. Perhaps some other prominent B-town superstars promoting fairness brands can take a leaf out of her book!
News was going around that Sujoy Ghosh has roped in Kangana for his next project. But all guesswork was dashed to the ground during the glam Cannes event when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, while talking about her upcoming film projects, stated that she will be doing a film with Sujoy Ghosh. Though it is not yet clear, which film Ash will be doing with Sujoy, speculation is rife that she could be paired opposite Saif Ali Khan in the screen adaptation of ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’, a Japanese bestselling romantic-thriller by Keigo Higashino.
