The news about the life ban on the former Indian Premier League chairman, Lalit Modi, has really surprised many. It shows how time changes. We cannot deny the fact the Modi’s ideas had given huge financial boost to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The introduction of the Indian Premier League is a glaring example. Modi has been found guilty of serious acts of indiscipline and misconduct, as per the BCCI. I think the BCC I should not forget that Modi is the person who has revolutionized the world of cricket and created good sources of income for the BCCI. Alas, the BCCI, it seems is not ready to recognize his services, otherwise it would not have slapped a life ban on this man. Or perhaps, the BCCI is adamantly not recognizing the achievements and services of Modi.

Fortunately, Modi reserves the right to appeal to the Supreme Court of India so as to challenge the BCCI decision and to prove his innocence. — Anees Lokhande, Alkhobar
