King Abdullah left for his heavenly abode at a time when the Arab world is passing through one of the most difficult phases in its history.
His efforts to serve his country and countrymen will always remain etched in the memories of the generations to come.
During his rule, the late king emerged as one of the most respected leaders of the world, whose balanced and wise policies helped the region and the world steer away from crises. During troubled times, late King Abdullah was seen as the last resort by leaders and people across the Muslim world.
To him, ruling the country was a heavy responsibility and not simply an honor. King Abdullah had dedicated his life and efforts to maintain the Kingdom’s strength, security, stability, prosperity and modernization. We can never in this brief article cover all of his achievements that will be remembered by the next generations.
The most notable achievement is the security and stability enjoyed by the Kingdom at a time when the neighboring countries are going through turbulent times. This stability could not have been possible without popular support and national unity. There were many conspiracies targeting the Kingdom, but they were all defeated, thanks to the steadfastness of its leadership in defending our values.
We know that death is the destiny of all immortals. But the departure of King Abdullah is a big loss to our country and nation. It will take us a long time to overcome our pain and forget this great loss.
The late king set an example for all of us. He enjoyed the respect of most world leaders. When his death was announced, flags of friendly countries were lowered half-mast and many of the world leaders cut short their schedules to attend his funeral.
Great leaders are rarely born in history. And he was undisputedly one of them. But what gives us solace is that he has handed the banner over to a group of faithful leaders who vowed to keep it high, as he had always wanted it to be.
