These days everybody is talking about Pakistan government’s efforts to initiate peace talks with Taleban. I don’t think that these efforts should be criticized. I believe that Pakistan is in no position to take a military action against these militants. Not because our army is not capable of tackling these elements but due to the very fact that any armed action will overburden our already crumbling economy. However, I am skeptical about the outcome of the peace talks. Taleban want an end to US drone attacks and the Pakistan’s government appears to be helpless in this regard. — Nabeel Ahmed, Jeddah
