India has successfully launched its first spacecraft bound for Mars, a complex mission that it hopes will advance technologies for space travel. (“India launches first mission to Mars,” Arab News, Nov. 5)

Saare jahan se achcha Hindustan hamara (Of all the places in the world, India is the best).

I feel great pride in being an Indian and congratulate ISRO scientists for the successful initiation of the Mars mission.

This is another milestone in our space research. It has now become one of the elite few that so far consists only of US, Russia and Europe.
