I tried my best to understand the role of banks in supporting middle-class families to invest their limited monthly income. Unfortunately, I did not find anything of significance in this area.

Here’s the story: The bank receives the monthly salary, informs the customer of the deposit through an SMS, the employee goes to the nearest ATM and withdraws money. That’s it! This is where, on many occasions, the employee fails to cover many unplanned expenses.

The role of banks should reach a broader area of support for any employee who trusts these financial organizations. Loans, alone, are not enough. Communications that provide future planning, suggested investments and methods of savings are simply not there! Saudi banks are still dealing with employees as monthly customers, while the fact is that this huge number of us should be treated as partners!
