RIYADH: Defying the global recessionary trends, a Pakistani company, Overseas Construction Company Pvt. Ltd. (OCC), has launched an expansion plan. It is currently executing several prestigious projects in the Kingdom as well as in Pakistan.
The OCC is working on a major SR120 million Sudair Labor Housing Compound project at Sudair, 150 km north of Riyadh, said Rana Abdul Rauf, OCC general manager, on Tuesday.
Rauf said: “OCC has had the distinction of completing several projects in the Kingdom successfully.”
The OCC, which has a SAGIA-licensed branch in Riyadh, also announced the company has launched an SR150 million mall project in Gulberg, an upscale locality in Lahore.
Spelling out the features of Lahore Mall Project, Rauf, who works as the chief promoter of the project, said that a group of overseas partners have joined hands together to launch this project.
Some new projects, currently being conceived by Rauf, include a plan to open a chain of restaurants in Pakistan. To this end, he noted that he has been talking to some fast-food giants in the Kingdom.
He said that the Riyadh branch of the OCC has had a substantial presence in the Kingdom with 13 years of impeccable record.
“We are also implementing a major electro-mechanical project for a hotel in Riyadh,” he added.
Referring to the projects, which have already been completed, he said: “We successfully built Ramada Hotel and Aramas Hotel in Madinah.”
Other important completed projects include Al-Diyar Housing Compound and a major housing project at Dammam Industrial Area for the state-owned Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON).
Moreover, the company has also been working closely with social and religious organizations to render services within the framework of the CSR initiative. Rauf said that he has been supporting 70 needy meritorious Pakistani students studying in the Kingdom.
“This is in addition to our frequent financial support, aid and relief operations carried out in Pakistan during natural disasters,” he noted.
