The Saudi Arabia pavilion at the 45th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair has been attracting huge crowds with over 18,000 titles in various fields and various forms of human thought, science, literature, and religious heritage, on display. The Holy Qur’an, children’s books and studies of human development have proved to be major attractions for visitors at the Saudi stall.

The Saudi pavilion, put up by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, provides visitors with more than 110 titles, mostly translations of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s biography in 45 different languages including Russian, English, French, and various African languages like the Somali, Swahili, Urdu, and Fulani.

Representative of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the exhibition Ibrahim Al-Tamimi said the ministry outs in great efforts in the service of the Holy Qur’an in all countries of the Islamic world, as there are new languages added each year for translation of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s biography. The efforts are directed toward delivering and facilitating reading of Qur’an and the Prophet’s biography for non-native Arabic speakers, which helps them absorb and understand the meanings of the Qur’an in a simple way.

The Saudi pavilion this year also has on display 241 titles about children, including the latest versions and products based on best methods and ways of education, and teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, as well as educational materials in the children’s education.

Books related to human development in the Saudi wing have also been appreciated by the huge turnout, with 160 titles on display.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Sa’eed said the Saudi pavilion is known for its attractions at the Cairo International Book fair in that it has books that feature documentation and useful knowledge, and it facilitates culture for every Muslim, particularly translated copies of the Qur’an.
