The 5-day event of the 35th edition of the Saudi International Motor Show 2013 (SIMS) came to an end on Saturday after attracting more than 120,000 visitors for its premiere and innovative concept vehicles. Jeddah Mayor Hani Abu Ras inaugurated the show on the opening day.
The annual motor show held at Jeddah Center for Forums & Events grabbed the attention of auto enthusiasts that are estimated to be close to 120,000 visitors and were treated to the unveiling of the most advanced cars.
Many manufacturers witnessed "unprecedented levels of interest" in their latest models and groundbreaking technologies at the show, which reflected a phenomenal year of growth for the automotive industry in the region. All of the exhibitors expressed a high level of satisfaction with this year’s edition, which seems to have definitively marked the end of the year.
Commenting on Toyota's participation, Adel Ezzat, MD marketing at Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ), said: "The motor show was a well-organized event that was extremely successful for both in terms of visitor's response and sales. Showcased were Toyota 2014 models, with Prius Cut Body, FT-86 convertible and Toyota safety simulator among the highlights."
As the official sponsor of the premier professional football league in the Kingdom, ALJ company had Fans' Zone where visitors had the chance to test their shot accuracy and strength while they could practice their goalkeeping skills at Keeper in addition to taking photos with the league’s trophy.
“The auto manufacturers really stepped up their displays this year with many interactive activities to both engage our customers and entertain them,” Zahoor Siddique, VP of Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE), which organized the annual event, said. “The response from exhibitors and visitors during this year's show was overwhelmingly positive.”
