Al-Faisal Institute is organizing a cultural evening titled “Humanitarian activities in the Arabian Peninsula” and “The local culture of Saudi Arabia” on Jan. 15.
Dr. Sulaiman Al-Theeb and Dr. Saad Al-Sowayan, both researchers at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, will deliver special lectures at the event.
The aim of the cultural evening is to raise awareness about the Saudi culture among foreigners.
The event will highlight the cultural role of tribes in the Arabian Peninsula. Participants will be given a presentation on important archaeological sites in the Kingdom and the results of the ongoing excavations at these sites.
The researchers will also shed light on the linguistic landscape of the Arabian Peninsula.
The lectures and presentations will be given in English with a direct translation into Arabic.
The event will cover a number of topics including:
Modern and contemporary traditions of Saudi people, which is characterized by the diversity of cultures and customs besides the richness of civilization, oral narratives, traditional folk dances, popular dishes and Arabian hospitality and generosity.
