Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Gov. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Darrab inspected the preparations of Mobily for this year’s pilgrimage season. Mobily’s MD & CEO Khalid Al-Kaf, Chief Operating Officer Nasser Al-Nasser and a number of senior executives, including those at the Muzdalifah head office greeted him.

Al-Kaf outlined the company’s efforts to serve the pilgrims by harnessing all human and technical potential to provide the finest communication services that will allow pilgrims devote themselves to the performance of their rituals in peace.

He explained the infrastructure development projects at the holy sites and said the company this year added more than 100 fixed and mobile towers. He stressed that the fiber optic network that connects Mobily’s fixed and mobile towers, including the Jamarat Bridge, will contribute to the flow of transmission of calls and data easily and conveniently.

Al-Kaf stated that Mobily continues to provide free Wi-Fi service with expanded coverage, including all Al-Masher areas such as Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah. He emphasized that Mobily’s role was to be very close at all places frequented by pilgrims, whether through the main branches or through the POS deployed at the holy sites, airports, seaports and miqat locations.

In fact, Mobily has made a number of special offers and packages that enable pilgrims to communicate with their families at competitive rates.

Mobily has been especially collaborating with various government sectors concerned with Haj and contributing effectively in the national campaign for awareness among pilgrims, Al-Kaf said and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the governor for his visit, which reflects his keenness to follow-up the efforts of the telecommunications companies that contribute with the rest of the governmental sectors to ensure the success of this year’s pilgrimage season.
