Al-Mansoori Specialized Enginee-ring, a major provider of oilfield services in the Middle East, hosted its annual health day in Abu Dhabi recently.

The one-day event was attended by more than 200 Al-Mansoori staff and partners who participated in a variety of health-related presentations and fitness demonstrations.

The event highlighted the importance of combating the debilitating effects of stress in modern life. A recent survey held by YouGov indicated that as many as 60 percent of the UAE work force suffered from stress in one form or another.

Stress, the silent killer was the theme of the program, which included a series of seminars and activities designed to educate attendees about the importance of being able to combat the spread of this illness.

Al-Mansoori CEO Nabil Al-Alawi said: "It is very important to recognize the danger posed by stress in the increasingly hectic lifestyles of today. It is crucial that employees are empowered with the knowledge and awareness to be able to combat the advance of the condition, to be able to enjoy stress-free lives.

Al-Mansoori’s Health Adviser Dr. Rounville Bardonado presented a vieeo on a recent detox program held for the company staff. The program, which is traditionally used to rid the body of toxins, consisted of three days of juice dieting, yoga classes, salt baths and enema treatments. The program received such an enthusiastic response that the company has announced that they will conduct the program twice every year in order to provide more employees with the opportunity to benefit from the treatment.
