Abdul Latif Jameel Company (ALJ), Toyota’s authorized distributor in the Kingdom, introduced hybrid and Diesel D-4D technologies to the Saudi market, complementing a new lineup that includes Land Cruiser, Camry and Hilux vehicles, at the Saudi International Motor Show (SIMS) being held at Jeddah Centre for Forums & Events.

“This is the premiere auto show in the Kingdom, which makes it the perfect venue for presenting Toyota’s alternative energy and efficiency solutions to Saudi drivers along with our other new models,” said Hassan Jameel, Abdul Latif Jameel’s deputy president and vice chairman for domestic automotive.

“Hybrid technology in particular has changed the way drivers worldwide regard alternative energy sources and it promises to do the same in Saudi Arabia. The D-4D technology in our diesel-powered Hilux provides not only a cleaner, more fuel-efficient and quiet drive but also impressively increased torque that gives you the power you need when you need it,” he added.

In order to introduce Toyota’s hybrid technology, the Hybrid Zone has allowed visitors to get a feel of the drive-and-ride experience of Toyota’s hybrid car and gain knowledge on its benefits to the environment and overall efficiency.

The new Avalon is present, packed with luxury, comfort and durability features well fit into an enhanced exterior.

The new Hilux, claimed to be a family member in many Saudi households, continues to acquire the sheen of SUV comfort and elegance atop the newly developed tough-frame structure.

This year, Toyota’s diesel lineup is in for a special treat as diesel-version cars were also on display: Land Cruiser and Prado, pinpointing Toyota’s ongoing commitment to providing alternative energy solutions.

Still, it was the hybrid that sparked the most buzz. Toyota introduced its first hybrid to the world in 1997.
