The promotional campaign for the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was launched in Jeddah recently.

Hakel Wen, international VIP service executive at the China Foreign Trade Center, which organizes the 119th edition of the fair, addressed a press conference as part of the promotion in the region.

The event also aims to encourage Saudi investors to expand cooperation and establish closer ties with Chinese traders.

Saudi Arabia is one of the largest and most important trading partners with China in western Asia and Africa.

Bilateral relations between the Kingdom and China have developed significantly since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1990, especially after bilateral relations were upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership on Jan. 20, during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia and China are expected to sign major economic and trade agreements.

The Canton Fair has become an important platform for China's foreign trade sector and a landmark of open trade exchange in China.

The exhibition plays a key role in advancing China's foreign trade, as well as driving its economic and commercial exchanges with the rest of the world.

With its Made in China slogan, the Canton Fair is co-hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Guangdong provincial government.

Since 1957, Canton Fair has been held in the spring and autumn seasons each year in Guangzhou, China. It is the oldest fair in China being held for the last 59 years, and includes diverse products in various business fields, as well as the largest participation of buyers from 213 countries.

The Canton Fair is being held over three phases at the China Import and Export Fair Complex (Canton Fair Complex) from April 15 to May 5.
