Electronic & Electrical Industries Corporation (EEIC) is always seeking to be part of high profile projects in the Kingdom. “And fortunately our quality products and reputation in the market has always allowed us that access,” Salah Nasr, commercial operations director, is reported to have said at the company premises.

“To work in different capacities on PetroRabigh projects has been one such opportunity,” he added.

EEIC specializes in providing integrated power and automation solutions that are used to operate some of the world’s largest oil, gas, petrochemicals, power generation and desalination facilities.

Ranging from engineering and manufacturing to servicing a complete range of medium voltage and low voltage products, the company is fast becoming a renowned brand in Saudi Arabia. This is further reflected in its recent work with the petrochemical giant, PetroRabigh.

First set up in 2005 as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical, the PetroRabigh project aimed at building integrated oil refining and petrochemical operations. Saudi Aramco transferred its oil refinery to PetroRabigh soon after its creation and a new petrochemical complex has since been built as part of the initiative.

EEIC won the order to supply low voltage motor control centers, switchgears and panel boards for the upgrade of Rabigh refinery, Phase-I project. Completely new lineups were provided to replace the existing ones for the four substations of the refinery making it a great opportunity for the company to contribute to the project’s success.

Ahmed Al-Titi, projects department manager at EEIC, commented: “Petro Rabigh is a huge petrochemical platform and EEIC is as always looking to leave its footprints in the key sectors contributing to the Saudi economy. The PetroRabigh upgrade and renovation project was challenging particularly because we had to meet the aggressive shutdown date.”
