The air navigational sector representing General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) held a consultative meeting in Jeddah recently with airline companies using Saudi airspace.
The meeting, which was meant to inform the strategic plan of the sector and the new tariff for the services provided, was chaired by the Assistant to the President for Air Navigation, Saleh Alghamdi.
The event was held in the context of the significant role of GACA in modernizing air navigation systems and keep pace with the latest technological developments in the world, and in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommendation.
The meeting was attended by a representative of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudi Aramco, Air Arabia, Nas Air, Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines, Royal Jordanian Airlines, Egypt Air and Turkish Airlines.
During the meeting, there was a presentation of the strategic plan for the sector and the new tariff for the services provided. Included were the increase of the current tariff for flights in transit and the introduction of the new fees for approach services.
Alghamdi extended his appreciation to the participants on the initiatives and for the fruitful discussion throughout the meeting. He added that air navigational sector will hold periodic meetings with the airlines in an effort to develop its services and reach a high level of customer satisfaction, which in turn will have a positive effect on the level of safety and performance.
