A rare set of historical treaties and political documents that accompanied the unification of Saudi Arabia is on display at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ (MOFA) pavilion at the Janadriyah Festival in Riyadh.
The “Documents Section” at MOFA’s pavilion includes a set of old passports dating back to 1345-1398 H, including passports belonging to the late King Faisal, King Fahd and King Abdullah, as well as the late Prince Sultan. Visitors can also view passports belonging to senior state officials.
Also on display are the ministry’s official seals and stamps that were used prior to 1405 H as well as the treaties that were concluded by the late King Abdulaziz before and after the unification of the Kingdom.
In a presentation made by MOFA’s team manning the section, the importance of the documents and the various changes that were made to them were explained to the visitors.
The visitors were also offered a look into historical treaties the Kingdom concluded with neighboring countries dating back to 1350 H. The documents reflect the Kingdom’s strong political ties with these countries, especially since some of the treaties were concluded prior to the unification of the Kingdom.
