The first edition of international 4x4 Motor Show is set to take off at Jeddah Center for Forums and Events from Feb. 18-21.

The show, a major and new event, is dedicated to the rapidly growing 4x4 SUV (sport utility vehicle) segment of the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia.

The show is organized by Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE) and Saudi Auto Magazine.

“This exhibition should be considered as a very important step to the big demand of 4x4 vehicles purposefully. Besides, it will be an effective platform toward consumers and 4x4 lovers in selecting the right items and brands, the latest products, services, technologies, proper and right knowledge where the event is presented,” the organizers said.

They added that the exhibition is like any other auto show, which strives to create a new concept by ensuring a high level of interactivity between the exhibitor and the visitor.

This first event of its kind to be held in Jeddah reflects the growing popularity of 4x4 sport utility vehicles.

Saudi Arabia’s auto market has been one of the fastest growing in the world. Despite falling oil prices, the current outlook is positive for continued growth in the Kingdom’s economy and automotive sales.

Forecasts indicate that growth from 2014-2019 to be approximately 19 percent for new passenger cars and commercial vehicle sales.

SUV’s and 4x4 cars are especially popular in Saudi Arabia and there is a high level of interest in off road, families and desert driving.

Recent researches estimate that Kingdomwide 19 are 4x4 vehicles and 11 percent light trucks. Larger vehicles are also popular in order to accommodate large families in this segment.
