With the support of Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the Disabled Children's Association and chairman of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Center for disabled children, Jeddah, is celebrating the World Day for People with Disability, in cooperation with SASS Arabia, from Dec. 1-3, under the theme "Integration is important to support and enable all people of different capacities and capabilities."

The King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Center is hosting a series of activities as part of the World Day for People with Disability, including honoring the Saudi special needs team that participated in Paralympics held in Los Angeles, USA, in July. The Saudi team won 23 medals, including 10 gold medals, from among 700 participants from 177 countries.

Jeddah Municipality will also be honored for opening the Middle East’s largest kids’ park for disabled children.

The center is utilizing the celebration of the World Day to support the disabled and give them their rights to participate and integrate in the society. It will provide the opportunity for the public and private sectors to participate and highlight their efforts to serve this special category of people through their community service programs, and the latest methods and technological means.

The festival will also give disabled children an opportunity for integrating with their healthy counterparts.

Last year, the center held the celebration with the Saudi football team for special needs who won the world football cup consecutively for the third time.

Zuhair Maimani, director of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Center for disabled children in Jeddah, speaking to the media on Oct. 14, said specialized services are being given to hundreds of special needs children through therapeutic, educational and rehabilitative activities, in cooperation with various centers and prominent organizations dedicated to the cause of the disabled.
