KPMG Saudi Arabia, a provider of independent audit services that help to enhance the reliability and credibility of financial reporting, will hold two-day seminars in Jeddah, Alkhobar and Riyadh in the coming month (May).
The seminars — aimed to assist companies in making a smooth transition to the international financing reporting standards (IFRS) and build awareness about these standards — are tagged Insights into IFRS.
The aim of these seminars, which will help companies understand the reporting requirements under IFRS, is to cater for the need of the finance professionals who are eager to look for knowledge forums where they can refine their accounting skills and deepen their IFRS knowledge.
They are designed to address the practical difficulties, which entities are facing when implementing IFRS. The presenters will highlight how the IFRS requirements differ from current practices and what are additional requirements of SOCPA’s converged standards in this regard.
Seminars will also include a session on the new Companies Law and its regulatory requirements highlighting key additions and changes.
The seminar will provide attendees with a chance to interact with KPMG experts, who have in-depth knowledge and practical experience and can cite examples from around the world to reach desirable solutions.
Khalil Al-Sedais, managing partner, Riyadh and head of audit services, Saudi Arabia at KPMG, said: “These seminars are designed to assist our clients and the wider industry to be able to understand and overcome any challenges pertaining to application of IFRS. It is important that government entities, companies and new investors involved in the preparation of financial statements are fully aware of these standards as they have implications beyond accounting and requires time and efforts to reap the true benefits from the upcoming convergence of Saudi standards to IFRS,” he explained.
