Minister of Social Affairs Majed Al-Qasabi honored Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) for its support of the charity anti-smoking association (Naqa). This comes on the sidelines of the Naqa association’s launch ceremony of endowments projects in the presence of Mohammad Jaber Al-Yamani, chairman of the Anti-Smoking Society.

The honorary shield was received by Akil Al-Akil, senior executive officer of regulatory affairs, on behalf of Mobily, in the presence of a number of prominent figures such as Yasser Al-Dosari, Imam of the Grand Makkah and Saad Al-Breik.

Al-Akil confirmed that Mobily is part of the society and its interaction with the various charity associations such as Naqa association falls under the social responsibility, where Mobily pays special attention to this aspect and puts all its human, technical and financial resources to develop social initiatives worthy of Saudi society.

Mobily has supported earlier Naqa association by donating SR1 million to contribute to the delivery of its sublime mission, which seeks to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking and its impact on health and community.

Mobily has launched earlier many services to contribute to the prevention and awareness about the damages caused by smoking through the service (Mobily-Naqa), which allocated 50 percent of its revenues for the support of the Naqa Charity Association in its anti-smoking activities.

The Mobily-Naqa initiative relies on a variety of services that help smokers to quit smoking via SMSs sent through three key channels, namely prevention, awareness and therapy. Each of the channels can be subscribed by sending 1,2, 3 respectively to the 606 080.

Moreover, Mobily offers the possibility of presenting this service to friends or family members to help them quit smoking through sending the icon (d 1 or d 2 or d 3) followed by the mobile number of the selected person.
