The fifth edition of Mobily CIO Summit, themed the new era in business efficiency, was held in Istanbul. Participants included senior IT officials and specialists in both the public and private sectors.

The event resulted in a range of important recommendations for the telecommunications and IT sector mainly focusing on the machine to machine technology (M2M), which allows smart devices to connect to each other in order to transfer data faster and more accurately and without any human intervention.

This technology includes linking the hardware, software and the middleware applications that deliver information directly to the analysis centers, in addition to improving the efficiency, quality and achieving critical tasks with the lowest cost by reducing a lot of time and effort.

Likewise, the reports indicate that the total revenues of device to device technology (M2M) will cross $60 billion worldwide by the end of this year, and the major impact of this technology is in the energy and utilities sectors.

During the conference, several new technologies related to the telecommunications and IT sector were displayed, for example, the cloud computing, information security solutions and smart cities solutions, which are expected to find a huge demand in the upcoming era. That prompts Mobily to focus on these technologies as among the most important solutions for the business sector.

Consequently, Mobily entered into the strategic partnerships with leading global suppliers of these technologies in order to launch a private service platform to enhance the level of customer experience.
