Mobily plans to transform itself from just a telecommunication provider to major information, communication and technology (ICT) service provider by 2020, by building world-class data centers across Saudi Arabia.

This major milestone is considered a fundamental need for the company’s transformation journey toward realizing the ICT service provider status.

Ismail Al-Ghamdi, acting chief business officer, said Mobily owned currently 42 data centers in different parts of Saudi Arabia, four of them certified by Uptime Institute, which make them the most reliable data centers that provide Mobily’s customers with the highest standards of security and reliability.

Al-Ghamdi added: "Those data centers represent the infrastructure capable to provide ICT solutions and they also represent the starting point toward providing various innovative solutions for the public and private sectors in the Kingdom, besides providing and hosting managed services, including cloud computing and IT solutions. In this context, Mobily will consider reaching partnerships with major international companies that offer the latest technological ICT solutions.
