The Blue, Movenpick Hotel Al Khobar’s buffet restaurant, is hosting a 10-day Vietnamese Food Festival from Nov.12 to 21.

Every evening, two guest chefs from Movenpick Hotel Saigon — Chef Huynh Anh Thuan and Chef Cao Van Thanah — will showcase the authentic flavors of Vietnam through spreads of traditional specialties.

Pomelo and tiger prawn salad, fried crab with black pepper, spring rolls, pho noodle as well as deep-fried sticky rice and mango pudding are some of the many menu options that will be served.

To make the night a more delightful culinary experience, there will be a carving station for roast chicken and lamb in addition to a live wok cooking.

The restaurant will also be adorned with recognizable Vietnamese decor such as the Non La or conical hats, bamboo furnishings, lanterns, umbrellas and traditional music.

“We are extremely excited for the launch of our food promotion as this is the first time we are bringing the flavors of Vietnam at The Blue,” said Wassim Issa, F&B manager of Movenpick Hotel Al Khobar.

“We want to take a step forward and introduce this delectable cuisine, which is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of oil and reliance on herbs and vegetables. Indeed, Vietnamese food is considered to be among the healthiest in the world,” he added.

“Gastronomers wanting to experience a fresh, authentic and extraordinary class of global cuisine in the Eastern Province can start marking their calendar as the stage is set for the buffet restaurant to host the city’s first Vietnamese food festival,” he said.

Guests who dine will also get a chance to win one of two return tickets to Vietnam courtesy of Emirates Airline, along with a complimentary two-night stay at Movenpick Hotel Saigon or Movenpick Hotel Hanoi.
