Further to achieving the Best Financial Management title earlier this year, Movenpick Hotel Al Khobar marked another milestone as it won the Best GOPPAR award in the recently concluded Movenpick Hotels & Resorts International Financial Controllers Meeting held on Aug. 18 to 19 in Switzerland.

Out of all Movenpick hotels across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, Movenpick Hotel Al Khobar was recognized due to its outstanding GOPPAR (gross operating profit per available room) improvement of 24 percent compared to last year.

Tariq Shabbir, the hotel’s financial controller, received the award in Europe and upon his return, a reception in celebration of the achievement was held. Attended by General Manager Markus Marti and the heads of the departments, Shabbir said: “Our aim is to be the best hotel in all aspects and having won the award testified that we are doing an excellent job in terms of our financial management. We intend to have a healthier financial performance year after year, so aside from monitoring the trend of GOPPAR, we will also look deeper into the numbers to identify a more competitive edge over our competitors.”
