New Zealand Ambassador Hamish MacMaster has announced six Saudi #YourSummerinNZ scholarship winners, as well as a special discount for students booking flights to New Zealand during the summer period.
The six winners of Education New Zealand’s #YourSummerinNZ competition will receive full scholarships to study English language in New Zealand for up to six weeks, including return flights to New Zealand and accommodation.
“The #YourSummerinNZ competition was a great success, with more than 3,100 entrants promoting New Zealand on our dedicated Arabic language Twitter channel — @nzeducationsa. We now have more than 38,000 followers on our Twitter page, where students can find out how great it is to study in New Zealand,” says MacMaster.
“I congratulate the winners of this competition. I also encourage all Saudi students to visit our Twitter page to find out why New Zealand is one of the best places in the world to study,” MacMaster added.
To coincide with the competition, Emirates Airline is offering a 15 percent discount on flights to New Zealand, for flights booked from June 1 until Aug. 31 and departing from Madinah, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
“We are delighted to partner with Emirates in promoting New Zealand as the premium destination for English language students,” said John Laxon, Education New Zealand’s Middle East regional director.
“Saudi students can now fly direct from Dubai to New Zealand via Emirates, and enter New Zealand visa-free when studying for up to 12 weeks.”

The competition winners to study at New Zealand include Abdullah Al-Fifi (New Zealand Language Centres), Thamer Albugmi (Worldwide School of English), Ali Al-Shahrani (Academic Colleges Group), Mohammed Al-Qabbaa (Southern Lakes English Language College), Majed Alzahrani (Languages International), and Fahad Alfifi (The Campbell Institute).
