Prince Matab bin Thuniyan has joined hands with Knowledge Core to formally support an initiative to set up schools, colleges and a university in line with international standards.

This initiative has been launched to resolve the education problems of expatriates living in Saudi Arabia. A formal agreement was signed between Prince Matab and Shahzad Alam Siddiqui, chairman Knowledge Core, Canada to design the overall framework.

The prince emphasized the importance of education for all and referred to the Prophet (PBUH) saying: “The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim.” Promoting education in Muslim world is the need of the time, he said, adding: “We wanted some groups to setup institutions providing the best possible education at the least possible price.”

He said: “We will never allow compromising the quality of education. He added that he was happy to say that this initiative will contribute in the economic prosperity of Saudi Arabia and will also open job opportunities for Saudi nationals and expatriates.

Amir Shahzad, CTO, Knowledge Core, explained that it was with the support of Saudi government and the community that we were able to invest in the education sector in the Kingdom.

Shahzad said: “We have the capacity to offer degrees in information technology, engineering sciences and business management. Knowledge Core has a formal collaborative relationship with NKRL Canada; that is, an international research and development organization, which will complement the university with its research activities, and promote research-based learning by involving the students in various research projects.”

He added: “Our institution will be the first of its kind, offering geomatic sciences degree in the Kingdom. Knowledge Core is also the study/test center of Comsats Pakistani University in Saudi Arabia for online studies and in discussion with various reputed institutes like LUMS, FAST (NU) and Punjab University to have their offshore campus in Saudi Arabia, if possible.

Pakistan Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq thanked Prince Matab and Knowledge Core for extending his support to expatriates and particularly for the Pakistani community.

He mentioned that he understood from his previous interactions with Knowledge Core that it has a team of highly educated teachers and professionals who can plan and manage the whole educational program.

The envoy appreciated Knowledge Core for promoting quality education in remote and distant areas of Pakistan through its e-Learning program (EDUCAST) via its offshoot EPEX Lab.
