The 4th annual Saudi Trade Finance Summit, which took place in Jeddah on Nov. 15-16, was attended by 280 top level leaders and experts. The two-day conference, organized by QnA International, discussed the Kingdom’s future trade priorities and ways to achieve them.

The summit was opened by Ziad Bassam Mohammed Al-Bassam, vice chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), who delivered the welcome address. The overall discussions at the summit centered on the theme, “Shaping the Kingdom’s economy: A bright future unfolds.”

Hatem Samman, chief economist at Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), gave an in-depth presentation on Vision 2030 and the role of the private sector and banks in realizing the Kingdom’s goal of achieving economic stability.

Top experts from the banking sector like Banque Saudi Fransi (BSF), Riyad Bank, Saudi British Bank, Saudi Credit Bureau and SAP, a technology leader, gave presentations on key topics in trade and finance relevant to the current economic times.

Supporting Vision 2030, the national priority, through their line of work was deliberated upon by most of the CFOs and top level executives speaking at the conference.

Some of the topics in focus related to supporting the SME sector, addressing the challenges of businesses amid the economy crunch, digitizing the finance functions, IFRS compliance adaptation and implementing successful business transformation.

The summit, termed as an exclusive environment, gave the opportunity to the Kingdom’s finance professionals to directly address their concerns with the financial service providers and others.
