Movenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed Ramzi Shaban as its GM for the new Movenpick Hotel City Star Jeddah.
In his new role, Shaban will have overall responsibility for launching the Movenpick Hotel City Star Jeddah, a five-star property, which is scheduled to open on June 1.
Ramzi has vast experience in the hotel industry, including 17 years in the Middle East. Of them, for 11 years he worked at a number of Movenpick Hotel & Resorts across the region.
The new role will be his third senior management appointment in the MENA region having previously held key positions in the Movenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a in Kuwait and the Movenpick Hotel Sana’a in Yemen.
Commenting on his new role, Shaban said: “I am honored to have this exciting opportunity to continue working with Movenpick Hotels & Resorts and I am looking forward to launching this remarkable property with my fantastic team later this year.”
He added: “The opening will further strengthen our presence in the Kingdom and this will be our 11th property in Saudi Arabia with another four additional projects planned to be launched by 2018.”
The 228-room and suites Movenpick Hotel City Star Jeddah is located in the center of Jeddah and is only a 15-minute drive from King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The key features of the hotel include eight meeting rooms, ballroom for up to 600 guests and three dining outlets, spa and a rooftop pool.
