The cronut is available again at Soleil Cafe during October, offering hotel guests and visitors the sweet, flaky, sugary treats.
The cronut is a fusion between a sweet doughnut and a crumbly-layered croissant. The delicious pastry was created at a bakery in New York City in 2013, receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews and praise. Later that year, it was recreated by the culinary team at Rosewood Jeddah and available for the first time in the Kingdom.
Amjad Yousef Al-Ghandoor, executive chef at Rosewood Jeddah, claims to have perfected the recipe, ensuring consistency and freshness every day. He said: “We received so much positive response when the cronut was first introduced here. It made perfect sense to bring the famous pastry back for those who can still remember the delicious sweet taste but also those who missed out the first time. We expect huge demand and very happy customers.”
Now available at Soleil daily from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the sugary sensation comes in three mouth-watering flavors — chocolate, caramel and cinnamon — to suit all sweet tooth tastes and cravings.
Hans Peter-Leitzke, MD, Rosewood Jeddah, said: “We always like to pay attention to how our guests rate our products and services. The cronut is one of the items that they’ve really taken to and now we’re delighted to be serving it at Soleil once again. It’s our way of showing that not only are we listening to our guests but also that we will continue to present unique, delicious items to establish ourselves as leaders in the food industry.”
Situated on Jeddah’s Corniche, Rosewood Jeddah is ideal for both business and leisure travelers. The celebrated Jeddah Corniche runs parallel to the Red Sea for over 32 km and provides convenient access to the city’s business and leisure areas.
