Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif launched the activities of Sanati 2015 (My craft), a productive families' exhibition organized by the Al-Sharqiya Chamber in collaboration with the Dhahran Expo Company, at the company headquarters in Dammam.

Al-Sharqiya Chamber's Chairman Abdulrahman bin Saleh Al-Otaishan said the five-day expo is held with the participation of more than 12 centers and associations along with 220 productive families to showcase their products in the free-of-charge pavilions, stressing that it aims to encourage the entrepreneurship culture, stimulate the community to establish domestic investments, and help productive families to contribute to the economic and social development process as a whole.

He said the event provides training and rehabilitation for the productive families to cope with challenges, by creating marketing channels to ensure sustainable income, as well as maintain the national heritage, handicrafts and national identity.

Al-Otaishan said the exhibition comes as part of the chamber's plan to support the national efforts for the promotion of productive families sector, adding that the productive families' projects will have economic dimensions as well as multiple social dimensions, such as reducing the deficiency of these families.

Al-Sharqiya Chamber Secretary General Abdulrahman Al-Wabel said the show is an important marketing outlet that will provide profits for these families to enhance their sustainability in the sector, noting that the chamber pays great attention to the productive families as a multi-benefit economic component that could contribute to the development of the economy, stimulate the production and marketing process and provide employment opportunities for community sectors.

Meanwhile, Al-Sharqiya Chamber offers a discretionary award for the best pavilion in the exhibition, in order to encourage its vital roles offered for productive families.
