Shell Saudi Arabia celebrated its partnership with Mohammed Yousuf Naghi Motors Company (MYNM), the BMW Group importer in Saudi Arabia, whereby Shell will produce and supply BMW's branded engine oils. These products will meet the latest BMW engine specifications and are underpinned by Shell's PurePlus Technology.
The strategic partnership between Shell Saudi Arabia and MYNM was announced at a ceremony held in Jeddah, which was attended by Waqar Siddiqui, CEO of Shell Saudi Arabia, Stavros Paraskevaides, MD of MYNM and other senior executives from both companies as well from BMW ME.
Shell demonstrated its relationship with BMW globally, reviewed its future strategy in the Saudi market and screened a documentary on PurePlus technology.
In his welcome speech, Siddiqui stressed Shell’s drive to produce premium engine oils through converting natural gas into crystal-pure base oil in order to produce synthetic oils that provides top notch cleaning and protection for engines, thereby strengthening the global relationship between Shell and BMW.
“We are proud of this partnership with one of the most important companies in the Saudi automotive sector, and we’ll do our best to enhance and strengthen this partnership,” he added.
Paraskevaides said: “We are pleased with this partnership here to reflect the global partnership between the two international companies. BMW has high quality standard when it comes to engine oil, which must be consistent with and meet the latest specifications of BMW engines.”
He added: “These innovative products will further enhance the dynamism of our vehicles and ensure driving pleasure, even in the Kingdom’s harsh climatic conditions.”
The quality of engine oil depends largely on its main components: the base oils. They make up approximately 75-90 percent of an engine oil product. Original BMW engine oils use Shell Pure Plus technology, which makes base oils from natural gas rather than crude oil.
