Siemens is, therefore, developing world-class practical skills with the Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program (SMSCP).

This international certification is rooted in the German dual education system and has enhanced the employability of graduates in 35 colleges across 10 countries.

Today, companies are increasingly employing more complex manufacturing, transport, energy and health care systems to secure their competitiveness and address demand.

Consequently, specialized knowledge is required to design and manage the integration of electrical, mechanical and computer technologies in such systems.

Siemens, as the world leader in mechatronic systems, is responding to this need with an international industry certification program — the SMSCP.

The Siemens Technical Academy in Germany developed and leads the SMSCP and partners with colleges and universities from across the world to embed the program in existing curriculums. This approach does not add to the period of study, does not disrupt an existing curriculum, and allows students to pursue a curriculum leading to a degree.

The added features of the program include three levels of mechatronic systems certification that are linked to clear job profiles. This has proven to be very useful to employers in talent acquisition and succession management.
