Turkish Airlines has launched direct flights between Istanbul and Zanzibar. Following the addition of Zanzibar, Turkish Airlines will now fly to 293 destinations worldwide with 50 in Africa.
These include the east African city hubs of Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Nairobi, Mogadishu, Djibouti, Asmara, Addis Ababa, Kigali, Entebbe and Zanzibar.
The Chief Marketing Officer of Turkish Airlines, Ahmet Olmustur, said: “Turkish Airlines is proud to transport people around the globe to experience new cultures, share ideas and create memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. We are delighted to open the new route to Zanzibar. We continually seek out opportunities to expand our network.”
Flights to Zanzibar will be operated three times per week — Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays in both directions.
Introductory round-trip fares are available from Istanbul to Zanzibar starting at $636. On the operations to Zanzibar until June 12, Miles&Smiles members will be able to earn 25 percent extra status miles.
