The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Istanbul Zaim University (IZU).
The ITFC is a multilateral trade financing institution and a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB).
The IZU is an institution of higher learning incorporated in Turkey, which offers undergraduate and graduate programs in many branches of modern science and humanities.
The MoU aims to provide a general framework for facilitating collaboration and cooperation between the two institutions to raise awareness about Islamic trade finance solutions and maintain joint research and studies on Islamic financial products.
Hani Salem Sonbol, CEO of the corporation, and Prof. Mehmet Bulut, president of the university, signed the MoU at the ITFC’s headquarters in Jeddah.
The ITFC provides trade financing facilities in addition to business advisory services to its clients. It introduces them to different partners in other member countries of the Organizaton for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and builds capacities of small and medium enterprises in collaboration with local institutions. It also promotes the exchange of expertise among traders through reverse linkages.
