Minister of Commerce and Investment Majid Al-Qassabi met Hou Weigui, founder and chairman of ZTE Corporation of Technology (ZTE) of China, together with Minister of Telecommunication and IT Mohammed Al-Suwaiyel.
Weigui presented a brief introduction about the company’s activities and services, explaining its wide ability and great capability in order to develop the IT industry’s Arabic content.
Aside from exhibiting the possible contribution of ZTE to Vision 2030, Weigui showed the corporation’s strength and ability to establish a regional R&D center in Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the possibility of manufacturing ZTE smartphones in Saudi Arabia, holding Islamic and Arabic identity.
The meeting discussed the feasibility of building a factory for the manufacture and assembly of solar cells and intelligent controllers in the production of renewable energy.
