Last week, I received an e-mail from a reader, called Robert Blaskiewicz. He happens to be an activist for a group called Skeptics for the Protection of Cancer Patients. I am very appreciative of his concern for ‘duped’ cancer patients and their families. Somebody should put the interest of cancer patients above medical interests. I commend him for it and thank him for the concerned e-mail.
Blaskiewicz pointed out to me that scientist and doctor Stanislaw Burzynski “was currently on trial” as well as three of his doctors “for huge infarctions alleged by the Texas Medical Board” and for tricking patients “into taking an expensive and dangerous course of treatment.” He said he is also accused of giving false hope to families and made “a host of abuses of the research process and neglect of patients rights.” He wrote such phrases as “on a massive scale,” “massive scandal,” “dangerous,” “expensive,” “as horrifying as the stories of his patients,” and “tricking.” Shocked, I dashed to my laptop to check out what Blaskiewicz said and what the Texas Medical Board’s accusations were to get Burzynski out of business.
I appreciate Robert Blaskiewicz’s e-mail and advice, but his extensively accusative words gave me doubts and made me think. I thank him for that, because what I found made me more aware and taught me to be more critical and review the matter.
Dr. Burzynski is accused of being a “fraud.” He is a licensed scientist and doctor who is practicing in broad daylight and saved many lives, which conventional cancer protocols FAILED to do. He has a licensed clinic and research center in Houston, Texas (please view the huge center in Houston in the links below).
Decades ago, he was harassed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and taken to court, yet he was vindicated and by who? None else than his cured patients and their families, who traveled long distances to testify for Burzynski, leaving their jobs and interests behind (people of modest income), just to testify for the truth. The court cleared him of the accusations.
Subsequently, Dr. Burzynski was allowed to pursue his clinical work and research and treat patients only if chemotherapy and radiation failed and if patients were dying. Despite these tough conditions, several made it with his treatment, surviving at least a decade later! He even got some of the nontoxic antineoplastons (ANP), peptides, and gene-targeting therapy, patented. He continues treating the terminally ill who have gone through failed conventional therapy. I wonder why it should not happen the other way around.
In the ‘90s, the Texas Medical Board decided to find fault with his credentials and sought previous patients who claim they were “tricked” into his expensive ANP therapy, which costs from $20,000 to $80,000. Just for information, orthodox treatments cost $200,000 and over. If applied multiple times, the cost would rise and no guarantees that they would work. Burzynski’s treatment leaves very little side effects contrary to claims and it is applied successfully on terminal brain tumors and liver, pancreatic, and lung cancers, which do not respond to conventional cancer therapies. These patients lived ten years later and more, cancer free after the treatment.
Burzynski was again cleared, costing him millions of dollars. The respected doctor, Julian Whitaker, supported him through his trials by collecting donations, mounting to $700,000. But, the sad part is that these trials have been costing American taxpayers $60,000,000; money wasted on unsubstantiated claims.
I don’t know how many patients lost their lives by using Burzynski’s treatment, but I can tell you tens of thousands of cancer patients lost their lives to failed mainstream cancer therapies; either killed by the resistant advanced cancer or by the toxicity and searing of orthodox therapies. I have seen patients, young and old, disintegrate physically and psychologically from such therapies, very heart-breaking. Next week, I shall relate to you the story of the sister of a friend and other stories similar to Burzynski’s.
In the link below, Dr. Mercola draws comparisons between conventional cancer protocols’ and alternative therapies’ successes and failures in treating difficult and terminal cancers. I shall leave you to look into the case of Burzynski against the health establishment.
Dear readers, you will also find a link from Robert Blaskiewicz to justify the claims against Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski’s and another link by the respected Dr. Mercola, telling the entire story of the brave scientist who is being prosecuted by American health institutions, special interest groups, and the drug industry, dragging the law along with them with American taxpayers’ money. Such actions, unfortunately, delay nontoxic cancer cures and research and waste tens of millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money. What a waste of resources!
I would like to point to a similar story that happened in Italy, sent to me by an Italian reader (link below). Luigi Di Bella, a respected scientist, came up with an answer to cancer. He did not keep the recipe (somastatin, melatonin, bromocriptine, and vitamin A) to heal cancer to himself to make money. Instead, he spilled it out at a public meeting in London that was broadcasted live in Canada. It made resonance from West to farther West. The treatment is so powerful that it is effective on the most resistant breast, brain, lung, and colon cancers.
Thousands of patients used the Di Bella Method successfully in the past 25 years and without side effects and thousands more are asking for the treatment. His method has not been published in peer-reviewed journals and he is not interested in that, because he has live proof in his cancer-free patients. He does not care about his peers, knowing how skeptical they are to change and alternative methods.
The National Oncology Commission and the Pharmacology Commission decided in 1996 that the Di Bella Method lacked scientific evidence. The health minister at the time, Rosy Bindi, decided to ask him for scientific data for his method. The ban on the miracle treatment only caused frenzy among the public. What changed the trial course is when a wise judge from Puglia made a local hospital apply the Di Bella method. Rosy Bindi was cornered and had to start clinical trials overseen by an international cancer panel.
Luigi Di Bella spoke to the European parliament, revealing that with somatostatin, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and retinitis pigmentosa could be cured. The demand on the chemical hiked, so did the prices and black market sales.
Eighty-five year old scientist Di Bella was introduced as a “forerunner in cancer research” at the University of Modena conference. He explained that he used the concept of “quadrilogy,” which “he mastered by means of a backward logic concept.” He used the four factors that influence growth and aging, but he did not explain how. Di Bella did not reveal how many were cured by his method, but the results of the cure are “quite good ones.”
Whenever there is a novel concept of healing naturally, brave scientists and doctors face struggle and resistance from the health establishment, special interest groups, and Big Pharma.
I apologize for interrupting Dr. Burzynski’s interview with Suzanne Somers, but I had to respond to Mr. Robert Blaskiewicz. I thank him for giving us his viewpoint and thank Dr. Mercola for his link below. We should look at both sides of the debate. When two points of view diverge, it does not necessarily mean either one is totally at fault. We need to keep open minds and not leave others to think for us. We should never feel desperate or cornered to make a decision. We should take the time to investigate.
Now that I showed you both sides of the coin, I leave you to draw your own conclusions. Each one should make the choice that meets his or her requirements best. Your belief and positive attitude toward either therapy or a combination of both will lead you to healing, Insha’Allah, regardless of the therapy. Keep faith in whatever you do to make it succeed. Your attitude and faith can influence your fate. Also keep healthy lifestyles (balanced nutrition, moderate activity, restful sleep, manage stress…) to give your body strength, energy, and a fight chance.
