Tomorrow, the Saudi professional league will start. How I wish that this new season will be better than last year’s for teams with four slots intended for the foreign players, except Wehdah, which didn’t react fast enough.
It’s such a big disadvantage for them especially that they just returned to the Premier League from the First Division league, so they need to be stronger for them to remain. Although sometimes numbers aren’t everything, I still consider having all four foreign players gives some peace of mind. As much as there is no assurance that all of them will be actually productive than most of the teams that signed them up in the last minute.
The first round of the season will be on a weekend, but the coming rounds won’t be, and I wonder why? If you look at Europe all league schedules there fall on a weekend where regular people will have no work. To be as good as them why don’t we do that and make our leagues more organized and well prepared?
As far as the teams go, nobody can expect anything in the first round, we might have surprising results. I wish excitement will always be there in all of the seven matches and see some good football skills that will make us look forward to the next rounds.
Hilal, Ittihad, Shabab, Ahli are all expected to win. These are the most favorite teams that make the league exciting.
Speaking of excitement, I wish our sports channel will sell some of the broadcast rights to provide viewers with choices. See you tomorrow either in one of the stadiums or in front of the TV screen.
