Sanofi, in collaboration with the Chronic Disease Patients Care Association (Shifa) and within the framework of its awareness campaigns and the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan, has announced the inauguration of a training forum.
It includes guidance courses for diabetics in fasting during Ramadan.
Khaled Al-Tayyeb, consultant endocrinologist, Nour Hospital, Makkah, and president of the Chronic Disease Patients Care Association (Shifa’) said: “The objective of the awareness program is to help diabetics to confront the challenges of diabetes during Ramadan.”
Accordingly, he said the program was set up to educate the patients on the best way to deal with diabetes during Ramadan, in addition to training doctors and nurses to form a core team to offers vital information and advice to patients.
Salah Mousa, general manager of Sanofi Saudi Arabia, said: “Sanofi pays special attention to all diabetes awareness activities. We are also keen to avail of adequate opportunities to educate diabetics on healthy lifestyles, nutritional facts that coincide with the challenges faced by patients.”
The program is a comprehensive awareness plan that aims to educate physicians and diabetes educators on the best ways to guide diabetics during Ramadan fasting.
The educators’ mission consists of training the patients on the importance of healthy food in Ramadan, in addition to showing them how to control the drug doses during the holy month.
