Riyadh region ranks first in theft cases for 2011

A security report recorded 57,396 thefts in the Kingdom in 2011, with 4,182 cases of pick-pocketing and 65 cases of armed robbery.
The Riyadh region ranked first in the number of thefts, a local newspaper reported, while Makkah ranked second, with 13,433 cases.
With 5,997 cases of thefts, the Eastern Province came third in the list. Madinah followed, with 4,060 cases.
Hail, Qasim, Tabuk, Asir, Jouf, Jazan, the northern borders, Al-Baha and Najran also figured in the list, with Najran having the least number of theft-related incidents at 186 cases.
