Janjua meets with Saudi FM, gives support to Palestinians

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua met Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on the sidelines of the 45th meeting of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) on Saturday.
“During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral, regional and international matters,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammad Faisal said.
Janjua is leading Pakistan’s delegation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.
She highlighted “blatant human rights violations” in the Indian Kashmir and thanked the OIC for its consistent support to the just cause of Kashmiris.
The Foreign Secretary in her statement reiterated Pakistan’s strong support for the Palestinian right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
Janjua also met the Secretary-General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan Ambassador Zaid Al-Lozi and discussed bilateral relations.
A day before the CFM, the Bangladeshi government organized a visit of OIC heads of delegation to Cox’s Bazar, which hosts the largest Rohingya refugee camp.
Janjua interacted with refugees and assured them of Pakistan’s support in their hour of misery.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry statement: OIC’s assistant secretary-general for humanitarian affairs held a media interaction at the refugee camp, in which he highlighted the deep concern of OIC with regard to the Rohingya situation and efforts being made by the OIC and the Muslim Ummah to support the refugees from the Rakhine region.
