ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Climate Change Sen. Mushahidullah Khan will represent Pakistan at a United Nations forum on forests in New York.
The forum from May 7-11 will discuss implementation of a UN strategic plan for forests lasting until 2030.
Khan said before his departure that Pakistan is well behind the UN target for forest cover in the country.
“This forum will provide an opportunity to highlight issues faced in developing countries to increase forest area and get international support for sustainable management of forests,” the Ministry of Climate Change said in a statement.
